How do other illnesses affect oppositional defiant disorder?

Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) often occurs together with other behavioral or developmental conditions. Some of these include learning disorders, depression, and anxiety. ODD is the most common condition that is diagnosed in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The symptoms of ODD can mirror those of depression in young children. These disorders can exacerbate symptoms of ODD and make it more difficult to treat.
