Who should not use Onsolis?

Children should not take the cancer pain medication Onsolis (fentanyl) -- this drug can be fatal to them. Adults should not take this medicine if a doctor did not prescribe it for them, because it can be fatal if they haven't already developed a tolerance to opioid (narcotic) drugs.

People should not take Onsolis for pain after an operation or surgery or for other short-term pain due to injuries, headache or migraine, even if they have taken this type of drug before.

You should not take this drug if you're allergic to fentanyl or any of Onsolis's ingredients.
