What should I do with leftover Dilaudid?

If you no longer need Dilaudid (hydromorphone) and have extra tablets, flush the leftovers down the toilet. Dilaudid is a pain reliever that belongs to a larger group of medications called opioid analgesics. These drugs provide important pain relief, but they are also sought by drug abusers.
