If you have asthma, other breathing problems or have paralytic ileus in the bowels, it would be dangerous to take levorphanol. If you are allergic to medicines similar to levorphanol, such as methadone, Vicodin, codeine, morphine, Percocet, Oxycontin or Lortab, you would be at high risk taking levorphanol. Since complications could occur, let your doctor know if you have gallbladder disease, breathing problems, underactive thyroid, disorders of the adrenal gland, mental illness, curvature of the spine, liver disease, a past head injury/tumor in the brain, kidney disease, problems with addiction to alcohol or drugs, urination problems, seizure disorders or an enlarged prostate. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or may become pregnant.
