How does Kadian interact with other medications?

Kadian should not be combined with alcohol. When Kadian is taken with alcohol, serious medical consequences can occur, including death. There is a wide variety of other drugs that can interact negatively with Kadian. You should talk exhaustively with your doctor about the medications you are taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs and supplements. Potentially dangerous drugs to combine include: monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), opiates, tranquilizers, sedatives and muscle relaxers. Any medication or substance that can depress your respiration may be harmful.
