Can I use Ryzolt if I am taking tricyclic antidepressants?

Talk to your doctor before taking the long-acting prescription pain medication Ryzolt (tramadol extended-release tablets) if you use a tricyclic antidepressant, such as:
  • amitriptyline
  • amoxapine
  • clomipramine 
  • desipramine 
  • doxepin
  • imipramine 
  • protriptyline
  • trimipramine 
  • nortriptyline
Combining Ryzolt with one of these medications may increase the risk of seizures, as well as a rare but serious condition called serotonin syndrome. If you're on a tricyclic antidepressant, your doctor may need to monitor you closely and modify your medication plan, dosage or timing.
