Talk to your doctor before taking the long-acting prescription pain medication Ryzolt (tramadol extended-release tablets) if you use a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). Taking these medications together may increase the risk of seizures, as well as a rare but serious condition called serotonin syndrome. If you're on an SSRI antidepressant, your doctor may modify your medication plan, dosage or timing, and monitor you closely, particularly when you start Ryzolt or your dose is changed.
