Can I use Rybix ODT if I am taking carbamazepine?

You should not take the pain medication Rybix ODT (tramadol) if you're currently on carbamazepine (Tegretol and other brands), which is often prescribed to control seizures. Carbamazepine may cause Rybix ODT to be less effective. What's more, if you have a history of seizures (whether you take carbamazepine for them or not), Rybex ODT could increase your risk even more. Make sure your doctor knows about your seizure history and about all other medications you take (including over the-counter drugs and supplements) so that he or she can prescribe a pain reliever that's safe for you to take.
