Can I use ConZip if I am taking antifungal medications?

If your doctor prescribes ConZip (tramadol) for you, make sure he or she knows that you're taking the antifungal agent ketoconazole (Nizoral). Ketoconazole can interfere with your body's ability to break down ConZip, which is a power pain medication, so that more of each dose gets into your bloodstream and stays there longer. This can put you at risk of serious side effects, including seizures and serotonin syndrome, a rare but potentially deadly condition in which levels of the brain chemical serotonin become too high. Symptoms of serotonin syndrome include agitation, hallucinations, coma, rapid heartbeat, dramatic blood-pressure changes, dangerously elevated body temperature, coordination problems, twitching, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
