Can I use buprenorphine if I take Fentora?

You shouldn't use buprenorphine (Subutex, Suboxone), a drug in the opioid family, if you're taking Fentora (fentanyl), a morphine-like drug for breakthrough cancer pain. Buprenorphine may significantly reduce Fentora's effectiveness in relieving your pain or may stop it from working altogether. Talk to your doctor about how to safely stop taking buprenorphine before beginning Fentora.
