Can I use Ryzolt if I am taking St. John's wort?

Talk to your doctor before taking the long-acting prescription pain medication Ryzolt (tramadol extended-release tablets) if you use St. John's wort. This supplement may decrease the effect of Ryzolt; taking this medication and supplement together may also increase the risk of seizures, as well as a rare but serious condition called serotonin syndrome. If you need to take Ryzolt along with St. John's wort, your doctor may need to modify your medication plan, dosage or timing. He or she may also monitor you closely during treatment, particularly when you start Ryzolt or your dose is changed.
