Do not take morphine controlled release if you are nursing an infant. Low levels of this drug have been detected in the breast milk of nursing mothers who take it. There is a possibility that infants who consume breast milk of a woman taking morphine could be harmed and develop withdrawal symptoms when the mother stops taking the drug.
