Can I be given Buprenex if I am breastfeeding?

If you're breastfeeding, you should not be given Buprenex (buprenorphine). Studies have shown that Buprenex, an opioid (narcotic) pain medication that's given by injection or intravenously (through a needle into a vein) can interfere with the production of breast milk.
