Can I take Avinza if I am taking antinausea medication?

Some drugs that control nausea (called anti-emetics) can be dangerous to take with the painkiller Avinza (morphine). Let your doctor know if you are taking antinausea medication before you start Avinza; if you're on Avinza, don't start any antinausea drugs without your doctor's approval.

Avinza slows down the central nervous system, and some antinausea drugs do the same thing. In combination, the two may cause a severe drop in crucial bodily functions, like breathing rate and blood pressure. Those changes can cause coma and even death.
