If your doctor prescribes the cancer-pain medication Actiq (fentanyl), tell him or her if you're taking antihistamines. The combination may be dangerous. Some antihistamines can make you drowsy. Actiq also can make you drowsy, slowing your heart and in some cases leading to excessive sedation. If you are taking antihistamines that lead to drowsiness, your doctor may prescribe a different medication while you are using Actiq.
