What food and other drugs affect Zyprexa Zydis (olanzapine)?

Before taking Zyprexa Zydis (olanzapine), tell your doctor all prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are taking. Some medications, including those used to treat high blood pressure can cause fainting and low blood pressure in people taking Zyprexa Zydis. Other medications can decrease the effectiveness of Zyprexa Zydis or increase the risk of side effects. Certain medications become ineffective when combined with Zyprexa Zydis.
Do not drink alcohol or take sleep aids or muscle relaxants while taking Zyprexa. Zyprexa can cause drowsiness, and alcohol, sleep aids, and muscle relaxants can increase this side effect.
If you are taking Zyprexa Zydis, talk to your doctor before drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruit. Zyprexa Zydis may interact negatively with grapefruit and grapefruit juice.
