What medications can interact with coconut?

At least one small study has shown some interaction between coconut oil and cholesterol-lowering statin drugs, but there does not seem to be any risk involved. Let your doctor know you are using coconut oil if you are prescribed statins. Coconut water is thought to lower blood pressure, and if used with medications that lower blood pressure may cause it to fall too low. This too should be addressed with your healthcare provider.
