What is naproxen for treating headaches?

Naproxen is a nonprescription, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used as a first-line treatment for mild to moderate headache pain and is effective for reducing the severity and duration of migraine attacks. Naproxen lessens the intolerance to light and the nausea and vomiting associated with migraines and reduces the need for rescue medication. This drug is especially useful for preventing menstrual migraines.
