What is nabumetone?

Nabumetone is used to treat osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis by helping to relieve inflammation, stiffness and pain. Nabumetone does not cure arthritis, but rather treats the symptoms of arthritis. Nabumetone belongs to the class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs. The medication blocks the body's production of a natural substance that triggers inflammation, pain and fever. Nabumetone is manufactured under the brand name Relafen and comes as a tablet that you take by mouth.
