What is ketoprofen?

Ketoprofen is considered a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and is commonly known by its brand name, Orudis. While the exact reason ketoprofen works is not known, scientists have linked its effectiveness to its ability to block internal substances that cause inflammation. It is thus used for the treatment of pain, stiffness and inflammation, most commonly in people with rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. Ketoprofen is also used to treat pain and cramping associated with menstruation as well as minor aches and pains associated with headaches, toothaches, muscle aches and backaches.
