What is diclofenac-misoprostol?

Diclofenac-misoprostol is a combination medication used to treat arthritis in a person who is at risk for stomach ulcers if they take a more traditional NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) for treatment. Diclofenac is the active NSAID component used to treat arthritis. Misoprostol protects the stomach lining to decrease the risk of getting intestinal or stomach ulcers. Diclofenac-Misoprostol is a prescription medication available as a coated tablet. The brand name is Arthrotec.
