What is Celebrex?

Celebrex is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) prescribed to treat pain and reduce swelling. This medication is commonly used for joint and muscle conditions, menstrual pain, bone pain, colon and rectal polyps and severe headaches. Celebrex belongs in the NSAID category called COX-2 inhibitors, which interferes with the enzyme called COX-2. This inhibition results in treating pain and inflammation.
