What are the risks of taking etodolac extended release?

Etodolac extended release is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). These medications may cause stomach ulcers. Your risk is greater if you use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) frequently, if you are older, if you are in poor health and if you drink large amounts of alcohol. People who use NSAIDs also may be more likely to have heart attacks and strokes than people who don't use these drugs. The risk is highest in people who use NSAIDs regularly.
