Taking Voltaren (also known as diclofenac sodium) can increase your father’s risk of getting serious heart or circulation problems, including heart attack or stroke. This risk increases the longer he keeps taking this medicine. Your father should not take Voltaren right before or right after having heart bypass surgery. Talk with your father’s doctor and be sure he or she is aware of your father’s heart condition.
