How should I take meloxicam?

Meloxicam comes in tablets or liquid oral suspension. If you are taking the tablets, drink a full glass of water with each dose. If you are taking the suspension, shake the bottle before each dose to mix the medication and ensure the proper dose. Meloxicam is taken once a day and can be taken with food or on an empty stomach. If this medication upsets your stomach, take it with a meal or snack. Do not lie down until at least 10 minutes after taking meloxicam. Follow all instructions regarding meloxicam from your doctor, including dosage and dietary, medication and activity restrictions.
