Should I let my doctor know I am using salicylic acid?

People with allergies to salicylic acid or related medicines, such as aspirin, should talk to their doctor before using any product made with salicylic acid. Pregnant women, breastfeeding women and women who are planning a pregnancy should also talk with their doctor before starting a salicylic acid regimen. Similarly, check with your doctor if you are diabetic, have experienced kidney or liver disease or have ever had blood vessel problems, as these conditions may require specific usage instructions.
