Can I drink alcohol while taking Voltaren?

You should not drink alcoholic beverages while taking Voltaren (also known as diclofenac sodium). Taking Voltaren increases your risk of bleeding in your stomach or intestines. If you drink alcohol while taking Voltaren, it can make this risk even greater. Older people have an especially high chance of having this problem. Symptoms of bleeding in your stomach or intestines include coughing up blood, vomiting a substance that looks like coffee grounds or having bloody stools.
