What is ibuprofen and diphenhydramine?

Ibuprofen-diphenhydramine is a combination drug containing a pain reliever and a sleeping agent. It is an over-the-counter drug commonly sold under the brand name Advil PM. The ibuprofen is known as an NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), and it relieves pain that can keep people from falling to sleep. The diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that causes drowsiness by affecting the brain. Although it treats minor pain that may lead to disturbed sleep, it does not treat or affect any underlying conditions.
