What is stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma?

Stage 3 non-Hodgkin (or Hodgkin's) lymphoma is a term applied to certain diagnoses of a type of cancer that develops in the lymph system. Doctors assign stages to a lymphoma diagnosis based on how many tumors are found, and how widespread they are in the body. Stage 3 lymphoma describes a more widespread type than stages 1 or 2, with cancerous cells found in lymph nodes throughout the body and possibly in neighboring tissues or organs as well.
