What is stage 1 non-Hodgkin lymphoma?

Stage 1 non-Hodgkin (or non-Hodgkin's) lymphoma is a name given to certain types of cancer that develop in the lymphatic system. Doctors assign stages to a lymphoma diagnosis based on how many tumors are found, and how widespread they are in the body. Stage 1 lymphoma is the most limited of four stages, with abnormal cells confined to one group of lymph nodes, such as the neck, or else one specific area of tissue, such as the lungs.
