What is amyl nitrite?

Amyl nitrite is an inhalant used to treat angina, or chest pain. This medicine is used when symptoms of angina appear. Angina is chest pain caused by reduced blood flow and oxygen to the heart. Amyl nitrite relaxes the blood vessels, allowing blood and oxygen to flow more easily.
