What are the different forms of nitrate medication?

Nitroglycerin is available as a tablet or spray, both of which are used for acute angina or to prevent angina that reliably occurs during certain activities. Longer-acting nitroglycerin is available as patches (Nitro-Dur, Minitran) and paste (Nitrol, Nitro-Bid). Other longer-acting nitrates are available in pill form as isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur) and isosorbide dinitrate (BiDil, Isordil).
