Do nitrates interact with any other medications?

Donna Hill Howes, RN
Family Practitioner

If you are taking dihydroergotamine, a nitrate may not be a good option for you.

If you are taking conivaptan, fusidic acid, or idelalisib, nitrates can lead to side effects and should be avoided.

If you are taking a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor or riociguat, you should not take a nitrate.
