Seek immediate medical attention by calling 911 if a Benadryl injection does not relieve symptoms of severe allergic reaction or produces new symptoms of allergic reaction, like increased rash, hives, itching, breathing difficulties or swelling in the face or throat. You may also become drowsy or dizzy, experience a dry mouth, nose or throat or note increasingly thick mucus in the nose.
Call 911 if you have chest pain, wheezing, seizures, rapid heartbeat, hallucinations, tremors, injection site swelling or difficulty breathing after receiving Benadryl.
