What should I avoid while taking Astelin?

While taking Astelin, avoiding alcohol and other depressants (such as antihistamines, sleeping medication, narcotics, muscle relaxers, or pain medications) is important, as the effects of these depressants can be intensified. Until you know your reaction to Astelin, you should not drive or operate heavy machinery. Since Astelin can make you feel dizzy, sleepy, and less alert, you may be at risk for injury. Avoid doing hazardous tasks until you know how you react to this medication. You should also avoid spraying Astelin in your eyes as this can irritate your eyes or blur your vision. Women should avoid becoming pregnant or breast-feeding while taking Astelin.
