What is Astelin?

Astelin, also known as azelastine, is a prescription nasal spray which alleviates the symptoms of hay fever (allergic rhinitis) and a similar non-allergy condition (vasomotor rhinitis). Symptoms such as sneezing, itchiness, and running nose are addressed. Astelin works by not allowing cells to release histamines, and thus not causing an allergic reaction. It is administered by spraying the medication into your nose. It is an antihistamine.
