What are the risks of taking propylhexedrine?

Propylhexedrine has been classified as a schedule V drug by the United States Controlled Substances Act (CSA). This means that it carries a low risk of abuse or addiction. This is because propylhexedrine abuse comes from the injection or ingestion of the medication, rather than its inhalation. However, risks associated with recreational use of propylhexedrine are serious because they affect the central nervous system (CNS: the brain and spinal cord). Overdosing on ingested or injected propylhexedrine puts an individual at risk for life-threatening conditions, such as palpitation, ventricular extrasystoles, shock and death. Call 911 if any of these serious symptoms occur.  If you use too much of inhaled propylhexedrine, you risk a return of your congestion symptoms. The effects of propylhexedrine on pregnancy and breastfeeding are unknown.
