Am I at greater risk of getting infections because I'm taking Symbicort?

Symbicort contains budesonide, which is a steroid. Taking a steroid can lower your body’s ability to fight off infections. So, when taking Symbicort, you should wash your hands often. It is important that you stay away from people who are sick (especially those with chicken pox or the measles) or have infections.

Tell your doctor right away if you have been around someone who has chicken pox or the measles.
