Does Optivar treat contact lens irritation?

No. Irritation caused by contact lenses may look or even feel similar to an allergic reaction, but Optivar is not effective in that situation. Optivar is an antihistamine that acts in the body to block histamines from creating the allergic reaction. The eye irritation caused by contact lenses is not caused by histamines.
