Is my dad at greater risk of getting infections due to taking Symbicort?

Symbicort contains a steroid. Taking steroids can lower the ability of your father's body to fight off infections. So, while he is taking Symbicort, he should wash his hands often. It is important that he stay away from people who are sick (especially those with chicken pox or the measles) or have infections. He should tell his doctor right away if he has been around someone who has chicken pox or the measles.
