What are symptoms of a chordoma?

Symptoms depend on the location of the chordoma. Clival chordomas most commonly present with:
  • double vision
  • headache
  • facial pain or paralysis
  • hearing changes
  • swallowing problems
  • hoarseness
Sacral chordomas may not cause symptoms until they are quite large, but common symptoms are:
  • back and/or lower extremity pain
  • leg weakness
  • rectal dysfunction
  • urinary incontinence
  • erectile dysfunction
  • palpable sacral mass
