Does rhabdomyosarcoma run in families?

The causes of rhabdomyosarcoma are mostly unknown, but there is no evidence that it runs in families. However, certain risk factors may be inherited, including genetic conditions such as Li-Fraumeni syndrome, Costello syndrome, Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, and neurofibromatosis. These conditions may increase the risk of rhabdomyosarcoma -- so, the risk of rhabdomyosarcoma runs in families but the cancer itself does not.
