Quinine should only be taken by adults over the age of 16 who need to treat their malaria. Quinine should only be used as prescribed by a doctor. Quinine users should not have long QT syndrome, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, myasthenia gravis, or inflammation of the eye nerves. Women who are pregnant or nursing should talk to their doctor before taking quinine.
