Who should take penicillamine?

Penicillamine is intended for people with severe rheumatoid arthritis, Wilson's disease or who suffer from cystine kidney stones. Penicillamine is safe for use in adults and children as a chelating agent and immunosuppressant. Penicillamine may be used in older adults, but it should be done so with caution as older adults are more sensitive to potential side effects. You may also take this medication to treat lead poisoning.
