What are the side effects of probenecid?

Common side effects of probenecid include: dizziness, flushed skin, hair loss, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, sore gums and vomiting.

Probenecid may cause serious side effects, including allergic reaction. Call 911 if you experience swelling of your tongue, throat and face, hives and difficulty breathing.

Talk to your doctor if you experience other serious side effects, including dark or bloody urine or a decrease or increase in urination; fever accompanied by lower back, genital, inner thigh or stomach pain; bleeding or bruising; yellowing of the skin or eyes; or worsening gout. Probenecid can cause other unexpected side effects; call your doctor if you have an unanticipated reaction while on the drug.
