What are the side effects of Cimzia?

Less severe side effects of Cimzia include: stomach pain, constipation or diarrhea; nasal pain or a stuffy nose; and itching, swelling, bleeding, flushing or pain at the site of injection. See a doctor immediately if you suffer an allergic reaction to Cimzia. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: an itchy rash, hives, breathing difficulties and swelling in the throat, mouth or face. Contracting an infection while taking Cimzia can be very dangerous, even life-threatening, as the drug lowers the immune system response. If you show any symptoms of an infection, call your doctor immediately. These include: a cough or sore throat, flu-like symptoms, shortness of breath or weight loss. Other severe side effects may occur which also require immediate medical care. They include: suffering breathing trouble accompanied by ankle or foot swelling; chest pain accompanied by a persistent cough that yields mucus or blood; skin that blisters, peels or turns red; numbness or tingling accompanied by weakness in the extremities; dizziness and vision problems; fever accompanied by joint pain or swelling; nausea or vomiting; irregular behavior; seizures; muscle aches; swollen lymph nodes; a heart rate that's too fast or too slow; painful or burning sensation while urinating; and jaundice or pale skin accompanied by bruising, bleeding or feeling unusually weak. If you experience any of these symptoms or others not listed, call a doctor.
