What is dantrolene (Dantrium)?

Dantrolene (Dantrium) is a prescription-only muscle relaxer. It helps to relax injured muscles, muscle spasms with spinal cord injuries, stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and other illnesses. Talk to your doctor about taking dantrolene with other pain medications, like hydrocodone or oxycodone, as these could make the effects of dantrolene stronger and vice versa. Do not take it with alcohol.
