What is cyclobenzaprine HCL?

Cyclobenzaprine HCL is the generic name of a muscle relaxant found in the prescription drugs Flexeril, Fexmid, and Amrix. It is used as an adjunct to physical therapy to control muscle spasms. Cyclobenzaprine does not act locally, but rather at the brain stem to control spasms. It is also effective at calming Parkinson's tremors.
