Can Flexeril interact with other medications or foods?

The muscle relaxant Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) doesn't interact with any foods, but it does interact with many drugs. It's very important not to take it with any of the drugs known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), because the combination can -- rarely -- cause life-threatening side effects. Other drug combinations can cause problems, too, so before you start taking Flexeril, tell your doctor about all your prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamin and mineral supplements and herbal products. Don't drink alcohol while you're taking this drug, because Flexeril can increase alcohol's effects on judgment, thinking, and motor skills.
