What should I know about Hylan G-F 20 before receiving it?

Before using Hylan G-F 20, let your doctor know if you are allergic to birds, bird products, egg products or feathers. If you have a skin disease or an infection at the injection site, you should not use Hylan G-F 20. Because it is not known whether Hylan G-F 20 could harm an unborn baby, you should not use it without first consulting with your doctor, if you are pregnant or have plans to become pregnant. You should also first consult with your doctor if you are breastfeeding. For 48 hours after the injection of Hylan G-F 20, you should avoid strenuous activities or weight-bearing activities that last for more than an hour.
